One of the groups I like to listen to is the Cathedral Quartet who were out of Stowe, Ohio. The Cathedral Quartet started(1963)as a trio consisting of Glen Payne(Lead), Bobby Clark(Tenor), and Danny Koker(Baritone). I believe Danny Koker also played piano for them. They added George Younce as bass singer in late 1964. Over the years they had several changes in the different positions. Men like tenors, Kirk Talley, Danny Funderburk, and Ernie Haase. Along with baritones like Mark Trammell and Scott Fowler. They have had several great piano players like Haskell Cooley,pianist/vocalist Roger Bennett, and pianist/vocalist Gerald Wolfe. Though the Cathedral Quartet name was retired in December 1999, the memories and legacy live on in tape/cd's/and videos, and in the ministries of several former members like Mark Trammell of the Mark Trammell Trio, Gerald Wolfe of Greater Vision, Roger Bennett and Scott Fowler of Legacy Five, and Danny Funderburk of Mercy's Way Quartet. And I almost forgot Ernie Haase and Signature Sound Quartet. Some of the songs that they sang over the years were songs like, Can He?, Could He?, Would He?, Did He?, This Ole House, God Himself A Lamb, We Shall See Jesus, Scars And Stripes,Oh What A Savior, Sin Will Take You Farther, and many more. The late Glen Payne went home to be with his Savior in October 1999. He is now realizing the reality of his song "WE SHALL SEE JESUS". George Younce joined Heaven's choir along with his friend, and brother in the Lord, Glen Payne, on April 11, 2005. Pray for his family and friends.
